Labor Day has ended, so it’s officially fall, right? Okay, maybe the weather hasn’t quite cooled down yet, but I have found the perfect dress for the upcoming season (whenever mother nature decides to cooperate).
Stunning right? This chic Belted Crepe Dress from Long Tall Sally has officially become my favorite power piece in my workwear wardrobe for fall. With a classic pencil dress shape, D-ring detachable belt and waist tucks, this dress fits incredibly well and has enough weight to it that you’ll feel polished, professional and put-together. And can we talk about the vibrant emerald green color, with an almost old-hollywood feel to it? Without a doubt, I will be wearing this dress to the office on repeat throughout the fall and winter.
I’ve styled it here with Long Tall Sally’s Sophia Suede Pumps, however with short sleeves, and a below-the-knee length, this dress will certainly transition well into winter paired with black tights and suede booties.
I love the way this crepe material feels, and more so, I adore the way that this dress makes me feel. As a working woman in the corporate world, sourcing dresses that provide sufficient coverage without appearing baggy and ill-fitting is challenging, especially during the cooler seasons. This dress provides ample coverage, but maintains that commanding, “I am as professional as my outfit suggests” attitude.
This week, Long Tall Sally will be celebrating their 40th anniversary (huge congratulations guys). To celebrate, I am joining several other bloggers on the Long Tall Sally website and speaking more about this wonderful brand’s impact on allowing me to curate a stylish and proper-fitting workwear wardrobe. This has ultimately instilled a tremendous amount of confidence in me, and given me the courage to be present at the table, feel comfortable in front of my superiors, and stand tall in a tough, male-dominated industry. Having clothes that fit my taller frame has enabled me to create an image for myself at work … one that exemplifies professionalism, aptitude, and hard work. My workwear choices signal to colleagues and clients about the type of person I am, how I present myself in the world, and how I want to be treated. It might seem trivial, but having blazers that are long enough, dresses that provide sufficient coverage, and shoes that fit allows me to focus on my work at the office, not my wardrobe. And I owe a tremendous thank you to Long Tall Sally for that.
