Chances are if you commute to work, spend a large portion of your day standing, or value your comfort during jam-packed work days (that are often followed by even longer nights), your closet already houses several pairs of go-to flats.
While I love a good flat for the office as much as the next working woman, I continuously face difficulty sourcing flat shoes that are polished enough for my work day, yet chic enough to incorporate current footwear trends, while also emulating my personal style aesthetic. For whatever reason, I feel that if I’m not wearing a pump, my footwear needs to have a little something “extra” to bring the chic-factor up a notch. Frumpy, boring flats = no bueno. Plus, there’s the challenge of finding footwear in my size (which is 11 … tall ladies I’m sure many of you can relate #TheStruggleIsReal).
However, I recently connected with the wonderful team at Lonia Shoes, and have to share two of my favorite fall flats in their current collection. Haven’t heard of Lonia? Think stylish/modern/current selection of shoes available in sizes 10 to 15. Tall ladies rejoice.
One of this season’s hottest trends has deep roots in fashion history … the modern loafer. I see more and more women embracing the menswear aesthetic, especially around the office. And footwear is no exception.
These Clover Loafers from Lonia are incredibly comfortable, totally chic, and a must-have for the fall/winter season. The monochromatic feel gives these shoes major versatility, so wear them with any and everything for work and the weekend. And I adore the elegant, small block heel finished in gold detailing!
I recently paired these fashionable loafers with gray socks, a black turtleneck sweater and tweed jumper for the office. Alternatively, by adding a blazer, elbow patches, or oversized watch you're creating a fresh take on the menswear trend. For a more casual look, I’ve added cuffed skinny jeans and a chambray top.
These gorgeous Ethnic Print Flats are another one of my favorites from Lonia’s current collection. The neutral canvas base of these shoes truly accentuates the tribal-inspired, navy design on these delightful d’orsay flats.
Finished with a golden cap toe and bright yellow piping along the sole of the shoe, these beauties are best paired with neutral, solid colored clothing.
For work, I style these with cropped black trousers, a maroon blouse, black blazer and a neck tie. And for the weekend, I paired these subtle pointed toe flats with a dark-rinsed skinny jean, white sweater and faux fur vest.
