Last weekend, as the temperatures finally started to cool here in New York, I had the wonderful pleasure of visiting the Nora Gardner showroom in New York City, and meeting Nora along with her fabulous team. Let me first start by saying how impressed I was with Nora herself! A former champion tennis player in college, turned Wall Street finance maven, turned fashion designer … I was so dazzled with her resume of accomplishments. The latest being her namesake workwear clothing line.
Dubbed as the new standard for professional women’s workwear, Nora’s collection features a diverse mix of dresses, skirts, blazers and tops in an array of colors, fabrics, patterns and prints. Many pieces lend well to mixing and matching which is ideal for any woman traveling the globe on business and desperately searching for more suitcase space!
Nora’s line also caters to the corporate woman looking to marry work-appropriate wardrobe staples, that maintain a professional appearance, with feminine feeling details. Inspired by minimalism, with a focus on fit and versatility, there are countless pieces in the collection for every body type and personal style, most of which can be worn year round.
After chatting a bit with Nora, I was incredibly inspired by the active role she takes in analyzing every detail that goes into her garments. Numerous pieces in the collection are wrinkle-resistant which is perfect for women that travel often, or those of us who don’t want to be concerned about how our outfit looks at the end of long work day. Each piece that I tried on in the showroom was constructed with quality and care, using fabrics that were so soft to the touch. These might seem like small details, but they are important … they allow women wearing Nora’s pieces to rest assured that their outfit looks polished and professional, all while maximizing comfort. Talk about confidence. If you know you look fabulous at work, you feel fantastic and that sensation can give you the courage + determination to tackle anything the work day might throw your way.
Here are my favorite styles from the collection! And if you’re in New York, definitely check out the Nora Gardner showroom at beautiful Bene Rialto. All pieces are also linked below to Nora’s website.
